Música original por parte de Bernard Hermann producida por Danny Efman, con su maravilloso toque siniestro que encaja perfectamente en las actividades propias de nuestro personaje psicópata, Efman hace de los temas un marco para la tensión del espectador, pero cuando escuchas el disco sin imaginar la película o para quien no ha visto está , resulta una gran variedad de deliciosos temas en violines y cellos que me recuerda el estilo que usaba John William, el creador de la banda sonora de "extra-terrestial (E.T. 1992)" que finalmente son tendencias como de Sergei Prokofiev, bueno regresando al tema, además podemos encontrar canciones clásicas como; "Psycho Killer" de Talking Heads banda que alguna vez encabezara David Byrne, pero ahora interpretado en presentación "unpluged" por James Hall.
Marion Crane is a Phoenix, Arizona working girl fed up with having to sneak away during lunch breaks to meet her lover, Sam Loomis, who cannot get married because most of his money goes towards alimony. One Friday, Marion's employer asks her to take $400,000 in cash to a local bank for deposit. Desperate to make a change in her life, she impulsively leaves town with the money, determined to start a new life with Sam in California. As night falls and a torrential rain obscures the road ahead of her, Marion turns off the main highway. Exhausted from the long drive and the stress of her criminal act, she decides to spend the night at the desolate Bates Motel. The motel is run by Norman Bates, a peculiar young man dominated by his invalid mother.
Marion Crane Sam Loomis is Marion's boyfriend. He loves Marion but cannot marry her in his current financial situation. Lila Crane is Marion Crane's sister. Cynical and suspicious by nature, she is desperate to find her sister, who has been missing for a week. Milton Arbogast is a private investigator. He's been hired by Lowery Real Estate to locate Marion Crane, who disappeared with $400,000 in cash.
